A Note to 5K Participants
The official course for both the 4 Mile and 15K will be open from 7 AM - 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 14. For those participating in the 15K, this is a very challenging course. The city of Peoria requires the streets to be re-opened to vehicular traffic promptly at 9:30 a.m. Therefore, walkers are highly discouraged from registering for the 15K, and should register for the 4 Mile race. In order to ensure safety to all, any participant still on the course at 9:30 a.m. will be asked to move to the side walk and follow all traffic signals. The finish line will remain open until 9:45 a.m.
Pedestrians
For pedestrians not participating in the Steamboat Classic it is advised to avoid using the downtown area from 6:45 AM to 9:45 AM. The high volume of people and road closures will make commuting through the area extremely difficult during this window of time.
