City of Peoria

The City of Peoria and Steamboat Classic share many of the same visions for the Peoria area: a vibrant, growing downtown area, improved health and wellness of residents, and an increase in downtown events. In 2024 they kicked off a 5 year plan aimed at clearly communicating to the community the longer term goals for the area (all of these can be seen in a simple but comprehensive pdf on their website).

In addition to their broad, overarching goals, they have implemented resources that will bring immediate and evident change to the area. Their “Peoria Care's” initiative allows residents to conveniently submit service requests for things they want changed and track the progress of them. Common requests are for potholes, tall grass, housing violations, crime/graffiti, street light outages, and more.
