TREASURE HUNT
This spring, the SC415 team is playing Easter Bunny and hiding prizes for kids of all ages! Get ready for an epic treasure hunt that will get you up and moving, solving clues, and claiming some sweet rewards.
The Game
Beginning April 1, 2025, 15 mason jars will be hidden throughout Greater Peoria. Each jar holds a special ticket inside, redeemable for RC Outfitters gift cards and other prizes! Every week our team will head back out to replenish any jars that have been found so that 15 prizes will always be hidden for the hunting at the beginning of each new week.
The Hunt
No, you wont have to climb any trees or dig any holes to find the mason jars. They will be hidden all along the trail systems stretching throughout the Greater Peoria area, from Dunlap to Morton, along the Rock Island Trail, the Rock Island Greenway Trail, the Riverfront Trail, and the River Trail. They might be in a bush, behind a tree…who knows… but they will stay close to the trail and respect the natural ecosystem.
Considering the search area is almost a marathon (24.7 miles to be exact), we are offering clues! Using the Strava app, the general location of each mason jar is provided along with a clue for each. As each jar is found, we will mark it on the map; this way, you're only searching for active prizes that have yet to be claimed.
The Treasure
So you’ve cracked our clues and used your map reading skills to find one of the 15 mason jars. Now what?
The ticket inside will tell you a couple things: first, and most importantly, how big of a prize did you win?!?! There will be different prize tiers, all color coded and named after segments of the Steamboat Classic that we hope you’ll be racing in June! Your ticket will tell you which prize tier you won (Madison, Monroe, Glen Oak, or Main Street).
*IMPORTANT* The ticket will tell you how to redeem your prize. To share your accomplishment with the world, we are asking you to take a cool picture with the jar and post it on Facebook, Instagram, or both and tag the Steamboat account (@SteamboatClassic). If you’re using Instagram, make sure to tag us in the actual photo, not just the caption. This will let us know you found the mason jar; we will then reach out to invite you into the store to collect your hard-earned prize(s)!

Each week the prize pool will look a little different, giving you a new excuse to treasure hunt each week! Sometimes the quantity of gift cards in each prize tier will vary and other times the sponsor gift in the Main Street Bonus could be something different. Check the Strava app to see how many prizes are still waiting to be found; we will be updating it frequently!
