Cause for Celebration: Florence Griffith Joyner

As a part of our Cause for Celebration series presented by PNC we are honoring FloJo the fastest woman in history.

Before she was FloJo she was a seven year old who just loved to run. By 1988 she had become a global icon.

With signature flair and unmatched speed Florence Griffith Joyner stunned the world when she ran the 100m in 10.49 seconds and the 200m in 21.34. Both records still stand. At the Seoul Olympics she brought home three gold medals and one silver dominating every race she touched.

Today we celebrate a true legend of the track. FloJo was fast fierce and unforgettable.
