Cause for Celebration: LaDaisha Steen-Yates
As part of our Cause for Celebration series Presented by PNC, we are honoring LaDaisha Steen-Yates, a Peoria standout whose speed and consistency lit up tracks from high school to the Missouri Valley Conference stage.
At Illinois State, Steen-Yates was a force in the sprints, posting multiple top five finishes across the 60m and 200m indoors, including a meet record victory at the Top Times Titan Open. Outdoors, she broke the 12 second barrier in the 100m with a personal best of 11.98, while also helping her 4x100m relay squad record some of the fastest times in program history including a fourth place finish at the MVC Championships.
Before ISU, LaDaisha made her mark at Richwoods High School, where she was a four year letter winner, a state finalist in the 100m and 200m, and the long jump sectional record holder.
From high school to Division I competition, LaDaisha Steen-Yates proved time and again that dedication and drive make champions.
