Cause for Celebration: Gabrielle Thomas
This week as part of our Cause for Celebration series Presented by PNC, we are honoring Gabrielle Thomas, one of the fastest women in the world and a force on the global sprinting stage.
Thomas made history at the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2021, clocking an astonishing 21.61 in the 200m—the second-fastest time ever recorded at the time. She went on to claim bronze in the 200m and silver in the 4x100m relay at the Tokyo Olympics, solidifying her place among the elite in American sprinting.
Her consistency and range make her one of the sport’s most versatile athletes—competing in both the 100m and 200m with world-class results. In 2023, she stormed to a gold medal in the 4x100m relay and silver in the 200m at the World Championships in Budapest, showing she’s a threat on every stage she steps onto.
From Ivy League tracks to Olympic finals, Gabrielle Thomas has proven time and again that talent, intelligence, and drive are a winning combination.
She’s not done yet—and the clock keeps ticking in her favor.
