Cause for Celebration: Constantina Diță

As part of our Cause for Celebration series, presented by PNC, we are honoring Constantina Diță, a Romanian distance running star who proved that perseverance and endurance can lead to Olympic glory.

Specializing in the half marathon and marathon, Diță claimed bronze at the 2005 World Championships before making history at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. At 38 years old, she surged to victory in the marathon, becoming the oldest Olympic marathon champion in history and inspiring runners around the world with her grit and determination.

Today, we celebrate Constantina Diță — a champion who showed that greatness knows no age limit.
